When it comes to skiing and snowboarding, apparel is just as important as your gear. Unless you layer properly, stay warm, dry and comfortable, you’re just not going to have a great day on the slopes. Picture’s 2026 Winter Collection of jackets, pants, and mid-layers delivers on comfort, protection and style for cold weather conditions and to top it off, Picture is proving that cutting edge performance and ecological mindfulness can go hand-in-hand.

In an era where environmental responsibility matters as much as high performance, Picture continues to push the boundaries of sustainable outdoor apparel with the launch of their latest outerwear featuring a PFAS-free ePE membrane.

QUICK LINKS

WHY PFAS-FREE MATTERS

For years, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) (often referred to as “forever chemicals”) have been used in the outdoor industry to deliver durable water repellency and long-lasting performance in waterproof gear. These compounds are persistent in the environment, resist degradation, and pose potential ecological and health risks. Picture has been ahead of the curve on this issue, having banned PFAS in their products since 2016. Their longstanding commitment to sustainability has meant not being able to incorporate industry leading tech like GORE-TEX into their textiles.

Keeping true to their commitment, Picture has adopted PFAS-free ePE technology, a membrane that meets the rigorous standards expected from high-performance technical outerwear while eliminating PFAS from the production process.

INTRODUCING THE ePE MEMBRANE

With new laws coming into effect this month which will see PFAS banned from clothing and textiles in Europe, industry leaders like GORE-TEX have been forced to adapt. Picture’s 2025-26 winter line re-introduces GORE-TEX tech to their outerwear collection with the newly developed ePE membrane. This membrane consists of a carefully engineered blend of polyethylene and polyurethane, resulting in a stretchable, highly microporous structure that efficiently keeps water out while allowing moisture vapor to escape.

Crucially, this ePE membrane meets the rigorous standards expected from high-performance technical outerwear while eliminating PFAS from the production process — a significant win for anyone who cares about the long-term environmental impact of their gear.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED

ALL WEATHER, ALL CONDITIONS

Picture’s new collection of jackets and pants for the 25/26 season enhanced with the new GORE-TEX ePE membrane have you covered (literally) against any elements you might face on the mountain.

For those snowy pow days, a fully waterproof shell like the Merepi jacket (available in both men’s and women’s) is ideal for skiing and snowboarding when snow, wind, and moisture are persistent all day on the slopes. These jackets combine technical features with ePE performance to keep you dry and moving freely throughout the day.

On those ever changing, unpredictable weather days, the Lassen jacket offers a technical 2-layer protection that excels in variable winter conditions — think sleet, freezing drizzle, and midwinter temperatures. Reliable waterproofing and breathability make it perfect for resort skiing and backcountry tours.

Whether you’re a snowboarder or skier— Picture’s PFAS-free ePE membrane represents a meaningful innovation. It shows that sustainability doesn’t have to be an afterthought in technical outerwear; it can be woven directly into the fabric of the product. And it positions Picture as a leader among brands that are serious about responsible performance gear- proving that performance, responsibility, and innovation aren’t mutually exclusive.
