If you find you’re itching to get back to the snowy slopes mid-summer, the Southern Hemisphere can hit the spot! Don’t lose your progress in park, Wanaka is home to Cardrona, where the pros go to practice and compete during our summer in the North. Cardrona has the largest terrain park south of the equator while keeping family-friendly. From Wanaka you can also visit Treble Cone, the local resort which receives the most snow on average, you may get lucky with a powder day but don’t show up expecting Canadian conditions. They have a short season, about four months long, but it’s absolutely packed with exciting events and competitions!

Hot Tip: The temperatures don’t hit the same lows as Canada but the humidity levels make for a cold that sinks in, be sure to get some quality layers to stay comfortable all day. If you are going to be riding park, a helmet is also strongly recommended.
