A warm 3/4 bottom
I purchased a pair of the Smartwool Classic Thermal Merino 3/4 bottoms. They are a moderately heavy weight wool bottom that feels like I will be able to wear as a single layer under shell pants on most days. I bought the Large and it fits well although it is not tight. I'm 6'0" and weigh 170 lbs. I might even be able to layer this over a thinner pair of long underwear on colder days. And they have a fly!
