It started with an idea. Our snowboard boot scientists approached K2 Snowboarding Team Rider Sage Kotsenburg with a new concept on snowboard boot construction - and the switch flipped, it was on. A first-of-it’s-kind construction comes from a one-piece rubber lower with integrated mesh. To boil it down, this means that the Orton will not only be waterproof, but also warm and dry, all day long. The one-piece-rubber lower is married with a dual-zone BOA® lacing system, making this a versatile boot, fitting feet of all shapes and sizes. In the development of this boot, Sage spent over 100 days in this product, getting it 100% right. Atop of that, the Orton was tested by our staff, our team of athletes, backcountry guides, and our film crew. Thousands and thousands of hours went into setting a new standard with the Orton. Sage knows that the devil is in the details…and he’s detailed. For the best performance in the bootpack, we chose our V5 Vibram® rubber outside. For ultimate damping and vibration absorption, we chose our Marshmallow™ injected midsole and Marshmallow™ Pro insole. For the best possible fit, we chose our performance liner-lasting and a heat moldable tri-density Intuition® liner. To top it all off, a rip-stop asym lace-cover with a gaiter hook keeps all the snow out.

TECHNOLOGY
LACING:
H4 Coiler Zonal BOA® Fit System
Impact resistant, durable, and performance-driven, the H4 BOA® Dial ejects on severe impact and is easily re-inserted into the boot. One dial controls the upper shell lacing, and the other maintains the lower shell lacing.
3-POINT HARNESS:
The 3-Point Harness is a straightforward solution that doesn’t skimp on support. This system aims to optimize heel hold, while providing ankle support and unrivaled stability to help reduce fatigue. A taller, Pro Version is found on Orton and Format models for additional support.
LINER:
Intuition Pro Foam 3D
Our most supportive liner, featuring a high-density Intuition® foam for added support without sacrificing comfort. This liner features both internal and external J-Bars around the ankles, where extra support is needed.
Intuition SpaceHeater
A liner designed for comfort and warmth, from start to finish. It features reflective heat blanket panels that work to trap heat in and keep cold out. These reflective heat blankets work alongside heat moldable Intuition® foam, internal J-Bars, and 3D molded dual-density EVA insoles to keep your foot comfortable and warm all day long.
FLEX ZONE UPPER CUFF:
The flex zone upper is designed to help retain a consistent flex pattern while reducing shell distortion when flexing
CONSTRUCTION:
Endo Construction
A K2 Snowboarding exclusive, Endo™ Construction allows us to alter the flex, response, and rebound of a snowboard boot without adding extra materials (extra materials = extra weight). By replacing additional materials with an injected heel-counter, adding extra rebound is as easy as a formula change and helps us to provide a more consistent flexing, longer-lasting snowboard boot.
OUTSOLE:
Vibram V5
Vibram® V5 Outsole features a full EcoStep rubber (30% regrind) with and Harshmellow™ pods under the toe and heel to reduce noise underfoot. The V5 Outsole is the perfect combination of sustainability and performance.
FOOTBED:
Harshmellow Pro Insole
K2 completely redesigned every footbed they put into their boots. Three separate compositions, Pro, Plus. and Base, now all incorporate K2’s proprietary Harshmellow™ damping into the layup of the footbed. The result is superior vibration absorbing and comfort for all- day excursions into the backcountry or hiking and riding around the resort.
FEATURES:
S'Café Coffee Mesh
With functionality and sustainability in mind, K2 coffee mesh is made from recycled post-consumer coffee grounds that is combined with post consumer recycled polyester. This mesh enhances odor control and moisture management of our standard lining mesh and is made from 95% recycled material with no added chemicals.
