A harness that combines a backpack for your child and a retractable leash for the teacher. The first and only harness specifically designed for teaching snowboarding, also works extremely well for skiing. You can decide the distance of your child by pressing the stop button on the retractable leash. When the button is pressed, the elastic cords will expand slowly without causing any sudden effect on the student. Try to let your child descend freely without having any tension in the rope.
For snowboarding, keep an eye on the child's toes at all times. When you see their toes getting closer to the ground, press the stop button or put more tension on the rope to avoid or slow down the fall.
