The Corbetts story starts over 80 years ago, across the Oakville community you could find Bud Corbett selling sporting goods from the trunk of his car. It didn’t take long before the inventory moved to a brick and mortar, one-stop shop for all things sporting goods. With the business thriving, Bud passed the torch on to his long-time employee, Ken Brown in 1967. It was Ken who had the vision of introducing skiing and winter sports to the fold - cementing Corbetts’ legacy in the community and eventually Southern Ontario as the perennial retail source for Skiing & Snowboarding.

When Ken retired in 1996, the business was handed down to his daughter Kim and son-in-law Chris, Corbetts’ current owners. Corbetts has remained a family and community driven business, employing hundreds of locals and of course, friends and family across multiple generations. Today, with over 20 years of online presence, a new store in Collingwood as of 2022, it’s safe to say that Corbetts is still growing, still thriving and here to stay!
