I bought these for my 10 year old daughter as an upgrade from the Junior Hero's - and what a difference! They're very warm, very comfortable, and have a "hike mode" switch on the back which temporarily loosens the buckles which makes it easier to walk, and she reports that they definitely perform that function; we have forgotten to switch it back on the slope a few times, to no real negative effect, although she does prefer the hoke mode switch to be "off" when skiing, so just remember that. They seem like really high quality boots and she is really enjoying them - I bought them a size or two larger so that she can grow into them at least for another year or two. They are very easy to get on and off.
